SUMMER reading scheme

Completely and utterly different to the spring reading scheme. Well, no, not really. Made up of many of the leftovers, plus some library fiction.

Home

Ender’s Game

My summer of love

Provincial daughter

Confessions of a failed grown-up

The weight of silence

Anna Kareninova (in Slovak), part 1

The Memory keeper’s daughter

Germania

Under the Dome Loved this. Will want to reread it again soon. I especially like the little shout-out to Jack Reacher – I like in-jokes in books much more than in films.

Crime and Punishment

Wicked !

Bleak House

A History of modern Britain

This Charming man

The Playground mafia

Brave new world

Closing time

The Brooklyn follies

Alice in jeopardy

The Elegance of the hedgehog

The Edwardians

Adverbs

The Book of nothing

Lorna Doone

A Brief history of time

A History of Britain

The Corrections

The Pickwick Papers

Jack Maggs

No Country for old men

A Passion for DNA

Playing for Pizza

The Oxford Popular history of Britain

Les Miserables, vols 1 and 2

The Historian

A Tale of two cities

Scruples Two

London – the novel

Good Soldier Svejk

20 thousand leagues under the sea

The time machine

Journey to the centre of the earth

I do have some other books on reservation from the library but as this list is being compiled, I haven’t borrowed them yet, so they don’t count. There are rules to keep, even if I make them up as I go along…

Am currently reading Under the Dome and enjoying it immensely.
